Privacy Policy
Attune is designed to be completely private. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers of ours for your information to travel to. What you enter syncs between your own devices through your personal iCloud account, where we cannot see it.
1. Information We Collect
There is no server behind Attune. The app has no account system, no analytics, and nothing that reports back to us. The only place your information travels is your own iCloud account, described in section 3, which we have no ability to read.
2. Where Your Data Lives
Everything you enter stays on your device:
- Her name, if you choose to enter one
- Her cycle dates, cycle length, period length, and any timing adjustment
- The daily guidance Attune has shown you, saved so you can look back
- Whether you marked a day's suggestion as having landed, and which kind of gesture it was
- Your notification preferences
- If you have paused Attune, the day you paused it. This one stays on the device you paused on and is not synced, so pausing on your iPhone does not pause an iPad
This information is stored on your iPhone, and synced to your other devices through your own iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled. It is never sent to us or to any third party, and it is not stored on any server we control. A copy is shared with Attune's own home-screen widget through a private app group on your device, which never leaves your phone.
3. iCloud Sync
Her cycle history is the one thing in Attune that cannot be reconstructed from memory, so Attune keeps it safe by syncing it to your private iCloud database. This is part of your own Apple Account. It is not our storage, we are not given access to it, and there is no dashboard anywhere in which we could look at your information. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy govern that data.
You are in control of it:
- To turn sync off, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, then see all apps, and switch Attune off. Attune keeps working; your information simply stays on that one device.
- If you are not signed in to iCloud, or iCloud Drive is off, Attune stores everything locally and nothing is synced.
- Deleting the app removes the copy on that device. To remove the synced copy as well, delete Attune's data from iCloud in the same Settings screen.
4. What Attune Learns
Each morning Attune asks whether the previous day's suggestion landed. Your answer is a single tap, kept on your device alongside the kind of gesture it was about and where you were in her cycle.
Attune counts those answers to work out which kinds of gesture tend to land in which week, and leans that way in the guidance it writes. The record is about what you did and how it went. Attune does not keep notes, descriptions, or judgments about your wife, and it does not use these answers for anything to do with intimacy.
You can read the whole record in the app under "What Attune has learned", and "Start over" deletes every answer permanently. The counting happens entirely on your phone. Nothing about it is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to go.
5. No Accounts, No Tracking
Attune has no sign-in and no user accounts of its own; iCloud sync uses the Apple Account already on your iPhone. It uses no analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifier, and no third-party tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is measured or reported.
6. On-Device Intelligence
When your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, Attune may generate the day's guidance using Apple's on-device language model. This happens entirely on your device. Your information is not sent to Apple or to us for this purpose. On devices without Apple Intelligence, Attune uses written guidance included in the app instead.
7. Notifications
If you turn on notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device from the cycle dates you entered. No information is transmitted to deliver them.
8. Purchases
Attune Plus is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. Attune asks Apple only whether this Apple Account has purchased Attune Plus, including a copy shared with you through Family Sharing.
The start date of your free trial is stored in your device's keychain so that the trial is not restarted by reinstalling the app. It is a date and nothing more, it identifies no one, and it is not sent anywhere.
9. Children
Attune is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
10. Not a Medical Tool
Attune's phases are estimates based on the dates you enter. It is meant to help you care for your wife. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a method of contraception, and it should not be relied on as any of those.
11. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because Attune collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare.
